The second floor weight room received high-performance flooring, new doors, wall and ceiling repairs and air conditioning. Second floor restrooms were converted to storage spaces. Each 540 sq.ft. apartment includes a full kitchen, dining area, living room, coat closet, full closet, one bedroom and one bathroom. All units have the ability to be easily converted to accommodate the changing physical needs of residents.

Energy Star technology and building practices were integrated throughout the scope of the project.

Morrissey Construction Company has completed Gateway Apartments located in Madison, IL and Venice, IL.

This 105,000 sq.ft. housing development is divided between two locations and encompasses 78 units, a management building, community pavilion and playground.

Units consist of one, two, three or four-bedroom apartments and town homes. Each unit includes Energy Star appliances and light fixtures as well as kitchens with Corian countertops.

The development is a gated community that also includes ADA and sensory units throughout, video surveillance and extensive landscaping with native plants and irrigation system.

This 100% green community consists of 32 single-family homes located in Jerseyville, IL. The 1,425 sq.ft. homes have three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and an attached two-car garage.

Solar panels, wind turbines, along with other technology reduce utility usage to an average of $0.

The community also includes a state-of-the-art playground, a clubhouse/resource center, community room, conference room and computer lab.

Morrissey Construction Company completed renovations and an addition on Marquette Catholic High School located in Alton, IL.

The project consisted of selective demolition of existing structures, infill of a courtyard between two existing buildings, which became a multipurpose room, a new lobby entrance, concession stands and improved restrooms. The project also included athletic administrative and coaching staff offices and new roof-top air conditioning and heating units for the cafeteria and gymnasium.

IHOP Renovation

Morrissey Construction Company has completed the transformation of an old Denny’s Restaurant in Alton, IL to the town’s first IHOP.

IHOP’s management team and Morrissey Construction worked together very closely from early stages of the project to ensure the 26 year old building was fully renovated with the most efficient outcome.

The project consisted of pre-construction demolition within the 4,900 sq.ft. building, enlarged restrooms to meet ADA standards, kitchen reconfiguration with all new appliances, new food service area and a large amount of wall refinishing.

The five-story building now known as New Hope Apartments is a former YWCA from 1928 built with brick and masonry.

The project consisted of 79 studio apartments that include a bathroom and kitchen. Four units were constructed as fully accessible for persons with physical disabilities and two units were made suitable for individuals with hearing or visual impairments. The facility also offers common space lounges, laundry on three floors, a computer room and library.

The Humboldt school, which dates back to 1879, was converted into 14 apartments and a new addition of 30 apartments was constructed. Much care was taken so that the new construction complemented the materials and the architectural features of the old school. The complex contains ADA-accessible units and many common areas for residents to socialize. This elderly complex helped stabilize the historic mid-town neighborhood.

The City of St. Charles School District R6 selected Morrissey Construction Company to rehabilitate the old section and construct three new additions to the Lewis & Clark Career Center in St. Charles, Missouri.

Renovations consisted of new HVAC, sprinkler and electrical systems along with updating all interior finishes.

The project expanded the campus another 20,000 sq.ft., improved parking and access into and around the campus.

Morrissey Construction provided conceptual estimating, design-build services and construction services for the abatement and remodel of the three story 25,000 sq.ft. building.

Though there were many challenges along the way, Morrissey Construction was able to provide the owner with a check at the end of the project for savings realized through the duration of the project.
