Morrissey Construction Company Completes Work on Worden Elementary
(8/27/08) – Morrissey Construction Company is pleased to announce the completion of additions and renovations to the new Worden Elementary School in Worden, IL for the Edwardsville Community Schools District 7. The addition consisted of 14 additional classrooms in the existing Worden Alternative School, a new multi-purpose room that will serve as both a gymnasium and cafeteria, a food preparation kitchen, media center, and an administrative office. The new building, designed by Woolpert, was approximately 43,000 square feet in size.
Officials conducting the August 16th dedication ceremony included Edwardsville Mayor Gary Niebur, Worden Mayor Frank Dickerson, District 7 Superintendent Ed Hightower and other representatives from District 7 and members of the Board of Education.
MCC was honored for its construction work, with Superintendent Hightower quoted as saying, “Worden Elementary School was completed by Morrissey Construction Company ahead of schedule, under budget and to the complete satisfaction of the school district.”
