Morrissey Construction Company Breaks Ground Roxana CUSD No. Cafeteria/Commons Addt.
(06/03/10) – Morrissey Construction Company is pleased to announce that it has broken ground on the Roxana CUSD No. 1 project located in Roxana, IL. The project will consist of a new 12,00 square foot cafeteria/commons area and is scheduled to be complete by August 2011.
The project includes a 12,000 square foot cafeteria/commons addition that will seat approximately 400 and will be used for student meals, banquets, as well as an all purpose meeting area. The addition also includes two elevators, providing accessibility to all levels of the junior and senior high schools and is scheduled to be complete by August 2011
A groundbreaking ceremony held on Thursday, June 3, 2010 was attended by representatives from the Roxana CUSD No. 1, Image Architects, Morrissey Construction and other members of the development team.
"This committee has finalized a plan that is outstanding and will improve the educational opportunities as well as provide a space for community events," said Debra Kreutztrager, superintendent of Roxana Community Unit 1. "Our approach is to do a little bit at a time even though we have a lot of needs."
