MCC Receives Special Recognition for Fair Employment Practices Advocacy
Morrissey Construction Company received the Madigan Award from Illinois State Capital Development Board for fair employment practices.
This award is presented annual to majority firms which are committed to providing equal employment opportunities for minorities and women as well as project participation opportunities for MBE/FBE construction-related companies.
This year's recipient is being honored for its extraordinary commitment to the FEP program goals on the East St. Louis School Districts Lansdowne Middle School Project. Of its $6.9 million contract, the General Contractor has purchased $2.24 million in subcontracts and supplies from seven MBE or FBE firms, exceeding the established 18% goal by 14.4 %. In addition, it has actively sought participation from local minority and female tradespersons to complement their workforce.
