Morrissey Construction Company Begins New Middle School in Columbia, IL
Columbia, IL (September 3, 2004) – Morrissey Construction Company has begun construction on the General Trades Package for the new 95,000-sf Columbia Middle School and 3,470-sf weight room addition and renovations at the Columbia High School in Columbia, Illinois. Morrissey Construction Company will be working under SM Wilson on this particular project.
Morrissey Construction Company, one of the area's leading general contractors, will be involved from the initial stages of the project. Morrissey Construction Company, founded in 1950, specializes in design-build, general contracting and construction management and is headquartered in Godfrey, Illinois. MCC's firm expertise includes the design and construction of religious facilities, schools, multi-family housing units, commercial buildings, and warehouse/office complexes, as well as a variety of projects for the Capital Development Board, Illinois Housing Development Authority and other state government agencies.
Other projects currently under construction include: Air Cargo Facility at Mid America Airport, Mascoutah; Washington Avenue Apartments in Madison; Windham Terrace Apartments, Wood River; Lincoln Elementary School, East St. Louis; and Renaud Spirit Center in O'Fallon, Missouri.
